Each ticket sold corresponds to a specific turtle that will be part of the race. At the start of the race, all of the turtles are dumped into the South Thompson River. The race runs from one end of the Riverside Park beach area to the other. The race starts near the historical flood markers and ends at the pier. All turtle wrangling is done by volunteers in kayaks.
