MAPLE RIDGE – MLAs Bob D’Eith and Lisa Beare say that funding announced today will help B.C.-based musicians to develop their careers and grow the local music industry.

“In my time as Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, I was able to get a deeper look at the music industry here in B.C., and the dedication and passion that goes into all aspects of the industry, including performing, recording, and creating music in British Columbia,” said Lisa Beare, MLA for Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows. “Congratulations to all the recipients, here in Maple Ridge and across the province.”

Over $3.3 million is being distributed to hundreds of artists and companies for career development, live music events, business development, industry initiatives, and attracting out-of-province talent to record in B.C.

Maple Ridge recipients include:

Music industry initiatives stream:

  • McKiller Music, $30,000.00

“Music is a powerful form of creative and cultural expression,” said Bob D’Eith, Parliamentary Secretary for Arts and Film and MLA for Maple Ridge – Mission. “I am excited to see the amazing things that recipients of the Amplify BC grants will achieve and create with this support. We look forward to showcasing our talent at marquee events such as the 2025 Juno Awards in Vancouver.”

More than 200 musicians and music companies will benefit from this funding, which is part of the New Democrat government’s $7.5 million investment in 2023 to develop and support musician’s careers and promote the music industry here in B.C. This is one of the many ways the government is supporting creative industries and creative professionals in the province.
