TRU’s Casual Shirt Days is returning for its seventh year and will happen each Friday in July and August.

With the success of previous events and with the ongoing themes of wise energy use, the TRU Sustainability Office will host a booth outside Old Main (near the basketball courts) from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Fridays to promote the event.

There will also be a weekly shirt-theme contest and a chance to win some great prizes.

At the booth you can:

  • Get your picture taken in your weekly theme shirt
  • Take a quick sustainability quiz to test your knowledge
  • Take home an energy-saving check-list
  • Enjoy a free popsicle

To enter the contest come by the weekly booth to get your picture taken, or take a photo of yourself in your shirt based on the weekly themes listed below and email it to the Sustainability Office ([email protected]), or post it to the following social media accounts using #TRUCasualShirtDay by the end of each of the eight Fridays:

  • Facebook – @TRUSustainability
  • Twitter – @TRUSustain
  • Instagram – @TRUSustain

Once you submit a picture you will be featured on the office’s Instagram account.

Shirt themes:

  • Friday, July 7: Canada /red & white
  • Friday, July 14: Favorite thrift store find
  • Friday, July 21: Funny saying
  • Friday, July 28: Animal print or pattern
  • Friday, Aug. 4: Hawaiian
  • Friday, Aug. 11: Sports
