Celebrate eleven years of growth in the research office, and recognize Dr. Will Garrett-Petts’ years of service as associate vice-president of research and graduate studies and as vice-president research (interim).

Highlights of Garrett-Petts’ tenure include:

  • developing and launching two university strategic research plans (2014 and 2022),
  • raising TRU’s research profile through increased external funding (nearly 400%),
  • working together on expanding Indigenous research opportunities and
  • championing undergraduate research training and research-informed learning.

Garrett-Petts has been awarded a Killam Visiting Professorship in Canadian studies at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts and will be transitioning back to faculty at TRU following a year’s sabbatical.

Faculty, staff, students and the Kamloops community are welcome to attend this special occasion where we’ll reflect, mingle and celebrate research at TRU.

Please RSVP by Tuesday, May 23 by emailing [email protected].
