Twenty-sixth annual Trash Bash – TRU Newsroom

Bashing trash can be fulfilling and fun.

Register now for our annual Trash Bash Campus Clean-up and BBQ on Thursday, May 18.

Join the TRU village by registering now for this year’s annual Trash Bash Campus Clean-up and BBQ.

The event goes ahead, rain or shine, and the resident deer family and other critters will thank you for your efforts.

Register on or before Tuesday, May 9 and be eligible for prizes (everyone gets free food).

Register by emailing [email protected] with your team name, each team member’s name, contact information, burger preference (beef, chicken or vegetarian) and any other dietary needs.

Individual registrations are welcome and there are no restrictions on team size.

  • Meet at 9 a.m. at the Horticulture Gardens
  • If it’s hot, bring a water bottle, hat and sunscreen.
  • The Sustainability Office provides collection bags, gloves, garbage pickers, a map and tidbits for the day.
  • Burgers, chips, veggies and desserts will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Prizes will be awarded for the best team name, weirdest find, most trash bashed (weight per capita) and best social media selfie using #TRUTrashBash2023.
