NDP Statement on International Day of Pink « Canada’s NDP

April 12, 2023 at 2:00 am  Federal, Politics

Canada’s NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh made the following statement:

“Today, we join with thousands of students across the country who wear pink shirts as a sign of solidarity as they stand against bullying.

Bullying can make you feel like you don’t belong.Nobody should ever feel this way—not at school, in their workplace or in their community.

That’s why New Democrats stand up for love, courage, and hope – and have always worked towards building a Canada that’s more inclusive and accepting of all people.

And today, I’m recommitting to the fight to create a more inclusive, compassionate, and open society, where everyone is free to be who they are without fear.

Today, I’m sending my to support Canada’s young people who are bravely fighting bullying, homophobia, and transphobia in their schools.”
