NDP secures worker-led clean energy jobs plan from Liberals but says the real work starts now « Canada’s NDP

NDP critic for Natural Resources (Jobs and Just Transition), MP Charlie Angus (Timmins-James Bay), made the following statement in reaction to the federal government report on the Sustainable Jobs Plan:

“New Democrats have worked hard with energy workers and unions to push the government to understand that sustainability is about a clean energy jobs strategy.
We’re pleased that the Liberal government recognizes the huge opportunity of embracing a clean energy future.
But the question is whether or not the government will back up these positive words with the massive investments required to kick start a clean energy future.
New Democrats will continue to use our position in parliament to push for a sustainable future rooted in clean technology and good-paying union jobs and we won’t give up until the government delivers on its promises to workers.”
