The Liberals need to answer to Canadians « Canada’s NDP

NDP Public Safety Critic Alistair MacGregor made the following statement:

“For the former Public Safety Minister to interfere politically with an investigation into a tragedy to further the Liberal’s own political goals would be completely unacceptable. It is clear that the testimony given by the former Minister of Public Safety, Commissioner Lucki, and the contents of Commissioner Lucki’s recording are in direct contradiction.
Instead of trying to deflect blame and mislead people, the federal Liberal government and the Commissioner owe the Nova Scotians who lost their loved ones honest answers. All Canadians need to be able to trust that decisions made by police are taken to serve and protect our communities not to give political cover to politicians.
New Democrats are calling for Minister Blair and Commissioner Lucki to immediately answer for why Canadians were misled regarding the serious allegations of political interference by the Liberal minister.”
