COVID-19: Ontario updates public-health guidance, opens boosters to kids aged 5–11 – August 31, 2022

In Toronto, Dr. Kieran Moore, Ontario’s chief medical officer of health, provides an update on the response to COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) as the province prepares for the upcoming respiratory virus season. Dr. Moore announces that, as of September 1, 2022, children aged 5–11 will be eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccination booster shots. He also discusses Ontario’s updated public-health guidance, which applies not just to COVID-19 but to all respiratory illnesses.
