Exemplary Service Awards Call for Nominations

February 14, 2022 at 9:17 am  Kamloops, Municipal, News, Politics

Kamloops City Council is now inviting nominations for the City’s Exemplary Service Award. The award formally acknowledges individuals who have dedicated significant time and service in a voluntary contribution to the community’s growth and development and to the well-being of Kamloops citizens. The nomination deadline is 4:30 pm on March 14, 2022.

Exemplary Service Awards are presented in two categories, Young Adults (under 30) and Adults (over 30). Award recipients need to have been residents in Kamloops throughout the time they are being recognized for their service and may not be nominated by a family member. A full list of criteria for consideration is available on the City’s website.

Selected nominees will receive their award at a ceremony on April 20, 2022, provided the event is permissible under public health restrictions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the awards ceremony was cancelled in 2020, and recipients of the Exemplary Service Awards from 2020 and 2021 were recognized at a ceremony last fall.

“We are hopeful to return to a more regular nomination and awards season this year,” says Mayor Ken Christian. “Our community has endured a lot these last few years and our cornerstone community volunteers are working harder than ever. Please help us ensure their service is honoured and recognized by nominating those who have made an extraordinary impact throughout Kamloops.”
