TRU Associate Professor of social work Wendy Hulko and University of Windsor Associate Professor of nursing Noeman Mirza studied early media coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a lens of stories about older adults and rural or remote communities.

They shared their findings in an article published on The Conversation Canada that was reprinted by The National Post. Their analysis involved 199 records, which they studied to determine key messages and whether older adults, rural and remote communities, and diversity were considered. Read more
