Researcher Series–Citation Management in Zotero – TRU Newsroom

There are many tools available to assist you with citation management, or the management of references you’ve collect throughout your research.

If your current citation management strategy is an email thread with links to relevant articles, then be sure to join this online researcher series event.

Hosted by TRU Reference and Instruction Librarian Erin May, learn how citation management systems like Zotero gather your resources into one place and help you organize information, take notes, collaborate with co-authors and create formatted references. Take the first step by setting up a citation management platform so you can begin organizing your research.

Zotero

Zotero is a free Firefox add-in and a standalone download for Chrome and Safari that collects, manages and cites research sources. It’s easy to use and lives in your web browser where you do your work.

Zotero allows you to attach PDFs, notes and images to your citations, organize them into collections for different projects and create bibliographies.

Note: Zotero is hosted on a US server and does not comply with  BC’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) which  requires that the mandated use of systems located outside of Canada must be with prior written consent if the user has to provide personal information.
