John Tod Centre Y Health and Fitness is Back this Fall with New Programs and Services

KAMLOOPS, SEPTEMBER 1 – The Kamloops Community YMCA-YWCA is thrilled to announce that we are taking the next step in reopening our facilities. On September 14th the John Tod Centre Y will be reopening with a program-based structure that offers new programs and services exclusive to our John Tod Centre Y location.

Programs and classes will be offered on a pre-registered basis featuring:

  • Unique classes exclusive to the John Tod Center facility
  • Streamlined registration guaranteeing your space in the class
  • Safe smaller class sizes allowing for physical distancing
  • More one on one support from Y Instructors
  • Only pay for the classes you want to attend
  • Discounted pricing and convenient online registration for YMCA – YWCA Members
  • No membership required to participate

New This Fall – YHome Member Only Website

As reactivate key programs and services in our facilities, we have also launched a new YMCA Member All Access Website to deliver even more virtual YMCA programs and services! This website is exclusive to our Y members and will support your family’s health and wellness goals through:

  • On demand workouts
  • Exercise programs and instructional videos
  • Ask a Y Trainer
  • Family and children activities
  • Physical activity for children and youth
  • Wellness programs
  • Health management programs

Access to the Member-Only website is included in a Kamloops YMCA-YWCA membership.
We continue to follow guidelines from health experts and local officials to ensure that our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety, and we have modified our policies and programs to facilitate safe social distancing practices including:

  • Daily health screenings of members, volunteers and staff
  • Increased cleaning of high contact surfaces
  • Increased physical distancing
  • Physical distancing and safety signage
  • Reduced class sizes
  • Reduced facility capacity
  • Reduced operating hours
