Downtown Parkades Membrane Replacement Project
The City of Kamloops is replacing the traffic deck membrane in both downtown parkades (Lansdowne Street and Seymour Street) between July–August 2020. This Membrane Replacement project is necessary to protect the concrete structures from moisture and extend the life of the downtown Parkades.
Due to the membrane Replacement project, the Seymour Street Parkade scheduled to reopen at 7:00 am on Monday, August 10. The Lansdowne Street Parkade will be closed for approximately one month starting Wednesday, August 12. Construction scheduled to occur Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–7:00 pm. Weather permitting, this project is expected to be complete by the end of August 2020.
During the Lansdowne Parkade closure, the Seymour Parkade will be open. Off-street parking is also available in the following City-owned surface parking lots: 300 St. Paul Street, 400 Lorne Street, 500 Lorne Street, Heritage House parking lot, Sandman Centre north parking lot, and Riverside Park west-end lot.
As the City is not currently collecting parking fees in the parkades and City-owned surface lots, parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking fees will be reinstated effective September 7, 2020, for all City-owned surface lots and parkades.
For questions about downtown parking, contact bylaws@kamloops.ca or 250-828-3409.
