I hope that you are well and managing to protect yourself during the pandemic. Chimera has unfortunately canceled the Hydra Festival, and Dr. Henry has made it clear that we should not be expecting any gatherings for the remainder of 2020. There has been a lot of online activity with live concerts on Facebook, Instagram and Youtube, however, and we would like to draw some attention to local artists as well. It has been interesting to learn new technology and new ways to draw audiences during this uncertain time. Many artists do not qualify for current government help and depend upon performing to survive. Each has interesting stories on how they are handling the pandemic and adapting to bring their art to a world with no venues.
If you could use your media platform to illustrate some of the struggles and successes of these artists and groups, and help bring an audience to their shows we would be greatly appreciative.
Some of the local artists we would like to draw attention to are:
Dave Coalmine is performing live performances from his living room on crowdcast. His next show is on Saturday, April 25. He can be reached at:firstname.lastname@example.org 778-220-2546
