Public invited to share ideas on Royal BC Museum modernization

Public invited to share ideas on Royal BC Museum modernization

June 3, 2019 at 8:49 am  BC, News, Politics

People in Vancouver and surrounding areas are invited to attend community meetings and share their ideas about the future of the Royal BC Museum.

The Royal BC Museum holds the world’s largest collection of B.C. heritage. It offers visitors the chance to explore the province’s social and environmental history and discover the events and people that have shaped B.C. The provincial government plans to modernize the Royal BC Museum to make sure it protects B.C.’s natural and human history for generations to come.

The Province is engaging with Indigenous peoples and citizens throughout B.C. to hear their views about what they expect a modernized museum experience to be. The government is also seeking feedback about how the museum could most effectively tell stories of B.C.’s communities and how the museum can collaborate most productively with communities around the province.

Two community meetings for the Lower Mainland region will take place in Vancouver.

First meeting:

Date: Saturday, June 8, 2019

Time: 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Registration begins at: 2 p.m.

Second meeting:

Date: Monday, June 10, 2019

Registration begins at: 6:15 p.m.
