Meet The Summer 2019 CAP Team
Summer in Downtown Kamloops is finally here! This means that the CAP Team has a few more helping hands for the season, and possibly beyond! I remember back to fall 2016 when I was hired. Sometimes it feels like it was only yesterday that I first put on the coveted red shirt and cap. While I have been on the CAP Team and the Downtown Kamloops crew the longest, they don’t call it the CAP TEAM for nothing. Some of the others you may have seen around downtown, but I’m here today to introduce some old and some new!
Jon George: Jon is the most veteran CAPie right now, starting his time with the team in September of 2016. He enjoys working for the team because it allows him to help people from all walks of life. Jon is a graduate of the Police and Justice Studies Program at Thompson Rivers University and in his spare time he enjoys being active and going to the gym.
Jake Andrykew: Jake is the interim CAP Team Supervisor and a student at TRU who just finished his second year in the school of Business and Economics. In his free time, he enjoys video games, reading, and playing board games. Jake will be returning to TRU in the fall to continue his education. Downtown, you’ll find Jake wherever there’s music!
David Stewart. Hired in December of last year, David is on his way to TRU in the fall to enrol in the Educational Assistant Program. David loves playing basketball in his spare time and adores how many shops there are downtown!
Matt Gropp: Matt was hired last summer, alongside Jake, but left in the fall to study the Computer Science Program at TRU. He’s back again this year part time! You can catch Matt at Red Collar Brewing downtown when he’s not working, and Game of Thrones fans should get along great with Matt as he claims it’s the “best show ever!”
Jarrett Larsen: Jarrett was born and raised in Kamloops and achieved his lifelong dream of playing university basketball at UBCO last year. Jarrett loves the variety of restaurants downtown and never goes hungry!
Blake Lewis: In the future, Blake plans to complete his Bachelor of Education and hopes to teach in an elementary school. While Blake only moved to Kamloops in the fall of 2018, he couldn’t wait to experience the downtown hustle and bustle during one of our amazing events!
Keenan Wallace: Keenan is a finance student at TRU. Keenan was lucky enough to play soccer for TRU as well as the University of Calgary. You could say he gets the ball rolling!
Jason Hothi: Jason enjoys how the community is close together and the diversity that Kamloops offers. Jason loves to help others and can’t wait to put all his CAP training to the test!
Rohan Sharma: Rohan is a business student from India. Rohan enjoys public speaking and you can find him outdoors going on all sorts of adventures.
For both returning and new members, everyone looks forward to an amazing summer to get out there and continue to show Downtown Kamloops how much we care!
