Who is Southwest?

Southwest Community Church is located in Kamloops at the junction of north and south Thompson Rivers in the interior of BC and has approximately 86,000 residents. It is also well known for its moniker, “Tournament Capital of Canada,” which, for many years, has been synonymous with hosting first class sports-related events, a knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteer base, strong athletic showings, and a wide variety of outstanding venues. We love our city and the people in it.

Southwest is a congregation of approximately 150 people and belongs to the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada. We’ve been in our current location since 1984 and are situated in a neighborhood filled with a diverse spectrum of people.

Why does this matter to you?

Wherever you find yourself on your life journey, and whatever questions you have about God, faith, or life in general, you are welcome here. Come wounded. Come lonely. Come poor. Come expecting to encounter God in all His fullness and grace. As we, ourselves, have been touched by His grace, it is a joy for us to extend this grace to others.
