Volunteers needed, must love clothes
The wait is almost over! The first Kamloops Clothing Exchange of 2025 takes place this April. Before that happens, they’re looking for a few volunteers who can assist with folks dropping off clothing the day before and at the event itself, from set up to take down. It’s a busy day, but a great way to act against fast fashion, help others in your community, and score some new-to-you clothes for free.
If you’re interested in volunteering at this and other events, please email the Kamloops Clothing Exchange. Alison will get back to you, with thanks!
What: Kamloops Clothing Exchange
When: Saturday, April 26, 12 to 3 pm
Where: St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral Hall, 360 Nicola Street
Volunteers needed Friday for clothing drop off and/or Saturday for the event, from set up at 11 am to take down after 3 pm.
If you’re interested in donating clothing for this event, we’ll have details about what’s being collected in our next newsletter. And of course, you’re welcome to attend. It’s free!
Transition Kamloops

Transition Kamloops is a volunteer-driven, registered not-for-profit society focused on increasing local resilience and self-sufficiency in food, water, energy, culture and wellness. We emphasize a local economy, healthy ecosystems, and grassroots community building, while reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. We believe in a better way: a community that sustains life in all its diversity, strives for equality and justice and invests in the future.
Transition Kamloops recognizes that we are living on Secwépemcul’ecw—land that was never ceded to settlers, and continues to be home to vibrant Indigenous cultures, languages, and traditions. We acknowledge the impact of colonization, forced displacement, and ongoing struggles faced by Indigenous peoples. We commit to listening, learning, and building positive relationships with Indigenous communities as we work towards reconciliation.
