Trophy Mountain Hike – Kamloops Trails

Just after the Summer Solstice we drove up the Trophy Mountain Road and hiked the trail to the meadows.    The forest was dry, but the meadows above were wet and bit muddy, but is was good hiking all the way past the old shepherd’s hut.  

The route up the ridge was in good shape.    We hiked along the ridge past Sheila Lake to Plateau of the Tarns. 

There were a few patches of snow, but the hiking was good as we wound past several of the tarns.  

Our end point for the day was the last tarn at the foot of the cirque, under the peak of Trophy Two.   

On the way back we went out to the east side of the plateau for the views up Silvertip Creek to Trophy One.  

The north face of Raft Mountain (planned for July) loomed high above the Spahats Creek Valley to the southeast.
