From the Timber Lake Road an informal trail winds on a route upstream, following Peterson Creek as it flows down through a forested canyon. There are 3 small bridges on this loop route.
There was a track set by hikers and snowshoers and at many points there were tracks that headed off on other routes, but I had done this route before so I followed one of the tracks up the creek to a small bridge crossing over to the west side. Along the way were many larger douglas fir trees and a quiet forest to enjoy.
