Panorama Ridge – Kamloops Trails
We backpacked up to Garibadli Lake and camped at the campground in our first day. In our second day we hiked up into Black Tusk Meadows on our way to Panorama Ridge.
The trail wound up over the ridge into the Helm Glacier drainage between Panorama Ridge and Black Tusk.
We could see down to Garibaldi Lake with Garibaldi Mountain above.
The single-track trail wound up past Mimulus Lake and Black Tusk Lake.
We crossed the Cinder Flats and then turned up the hillside to Panorama Ridge.
We followed Helm Creek up the hillside.
Some of the glacier is just a permanent snowfield which made easy climbing to the top of the ridge.
From the top of Panorama Ridge we looked down and over to Sphinx Bay.
To the south The Table and the Garibaldi Neve rising high to Mount Garibaldi.
The whole of Garibaldi Lake was at our feet, spectacular in photos and in memories.
We continued over the Ridge to Gentian Peak.
We returned the way we came, a 14 km round trip, enough for one day, but a special one still in our memories.
