Hiking Greenstone Provincial Park - Kamloops Trails

Hiking Greenstone Provincial Park – Kamloops Trails

Greenstone Mountain Park is a small park in the summit area of Greenstone Mountain.    There are 4 communications towers on the summit area and an old forest lookout.    When the park was created in 1996 , there were already a number of towers, buildings and ATV tracks.    The old fire lookout has been maintained by the 4×4 Association, but the public uses it freely so it may not always be in the best condition.  There are no hiking trails per se, but we can combine some of the roads and ATV tracks to hike a loop route.    The view on top is worth the long drive up the bumpy Greenstone Mountain Road.

At the south end of the summit area stands the old (1930) Greenstone Mountain Fire Tower.

I hiked up to the summit twice in two days, exploring different areas and enjoying the flora, fauna, and views.   A few moments of the hikes are found in this YouTube video:

About KamloopsTrails

I started exploring this area in 1976 and I continue to follow tracks and routes wherever they lead, with the aid of map, compass, GPSr and camera. After many dead-ends, but also many discoveries, I chose to share this information. Getting out 12 months each year, I continue to explore trails, tracks, routes, and waterways of the Kamloops area and beyond.
