Around Batchelor Hill – Kamloops Trails

On a sunny late winter day I hiked a series of single track trails on the snow around Batchelor Hill.

There was a fresh snowfall on all of the trails, so winter boots with microspikes were used, but the going was slow.    The first 2 km section was around the eastern slopes of Batchelor Hill to trails that wind around the north side.

This section is called the Bighorn Loop by the mountain bikers, but we have been calling it Batchelor Pass for 50 years.  

This is a moderate route with no difficult hills, one to enjoy in the shoulder season on dry trails.    All photos by the author.    Click an image for a lightbox view and a caption.
