A Tod Mountain Ramble – Kamloops Trails
We traveled to Sun Peaks Resort, then took the chairlift up to mid-station hike. We hiked up through Crystal Bowl and past Top of the World, winding north along the Westridge Trail.
Our route continued up the Tod Mountain Trail to the summit, then returned by the Tod Backside Trail around the peak back to the way we had hiked up, a hike of 10.3 km .
The peak of Tod Mountain stands at 7070 feet (2155m) and has wide views in every direction.
Lush vegetation was found along the whole route with many wildflowers in bloom on open meadows.
This is a hike we do every summer (this was our second time this year) since it offers easy access to alpine meadows and beautiful views. By this trip, the wet areas had dried out so there were no mosquitoes. We hope to get back to the mountain again for one more hike in the subalpine areas of the mountain.
