A Grey Day on Cooney Bay

A Grey Day on Cooney Bay

Doug Smith  April 1, 2022 at 9:00 am

On a hazy grey morning we drove the potholed road down to Cooney Bay.   We hike along the river, then around the bay on Kamloops Lake.

Tranquille River drains into the bay.   We crossed on a small ice bridge, but soon we will have to use logs to cross over.

At the end of the bay we hiked over the bluff and had great views down the lake.   Battle Bluff looms over the lake on the north side.

We scrambled down the bluff to the pebbled beach and continued to the last point before Battle Bluff.

We did a little beachcombing and found some interesting items.  We picked a slightly different path back, but followed the shoreline to the start, a 5.3 km return hike.
