We’re inviting our community to help shape the future of community cinema in Kamloops and across the Thompson-Nicola region.

For more than 70 years, the Paramount Theatre has been a place to gather, discover, and connect — where stories from around the world come to life and inspire conversations close to home. As the only independent, cinema-based cultural venue in the region, the Paramount continues to bring diverse films, local festivals, and community events to our screens.

Now, we’re calling on 30 Friends of Film to help sustain this legacy and build what’s next. Our goal: 30 donors by November 30, 2025.

🎗️The Kamloops Film Society is a registered charity, and tax receipts will be issued for all contributions.

Our goal: 30 donors by November 30, 2025.

If you believe in the power of film to connect, challenge, and inspire — and want to see the Paramount Theatre continue to thrive for decades to come — we invite you to become a Friend of Film today.

Kamloops Film Society

The Kamloops Film Society is the umbrella organization that operates the Paramount Theatre and runs two main events: The Thursday Film Series and the annual March Kamloops Film Festival, which includes the Kamloops Independent Short Shorts Festival. The KFS has been operating for over 45 years and was officially incorporated under the BC Societies Act on August 17, 1994. In the spring of 2019, The Kelson Group purchased the Paramount Theatre and leased the venue to the KFS. The support of The Kelson Group and Ron Fawcett has made the venture possible as The KFS continues to make the theatre a cultural venue.
