The full list of Golden Globe Nominations were announced just before the holidays, and we are proud to have screened many of the nominees this year. ELVIS and TOP GUN: MAVERICK were hits at the Twin Rivers Drive-In; TRIANGLE OF SADNESS was a selection for our Thursday Film Series; and MRS. HARRIS GOES TO PARIS, MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON, TAR, and EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE had month long screenings at the Paramount. Look below to see what these amazing films were nominated for!

Best Film – Drama
Best Director: Baz Luhrmann
Best Actor – Drama: Austin Butler

Best Film – Musical or Comedy
Best Screenplay: Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert
Best Director: Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert
Best Actress – Musical or Comedy: Michelle Yeoh
Best Supporting Actor: Ke Huy Quan
Best Supporting Actress: Jamie Lee Curtis

Best Actress – Drama: Cate Blanchett

Kamloops Film Society

The Kamloops Film Society is the umbrella organization that operates the Paramount Theatre and runs two main events: The Thursday Film Series and the annual March Kamloops Film Festival, which includes the Kamloops Independent Short Shorts Festival. The KFS has been operating for over 45 years and was officially incorporated under the BC Societies Act on August 17, 1994. In the spring of 2019, The Kelson Group purchased the Paramount Theatre and leased the venue to the KFS. The support of The Kelson Group and Ron Fawcett has made the venture possible as The KFS continues to make the theatre a cultural venue.
