Parliamentarians and civil society organizations hold a news conference on Parliament Hill to discuss the government’s announcement that it will be eliminating the Canadian Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise.

Speaking are MPs Heather McPherson (NDP) and Simon-Pierre Savard-Tremblay (Bloc Québécois), Siobhán Vipond (executive vice-president, Canadian Labour Congress), David Matsinhe (director of policy, advocacy and research for Amnesty International Canada), Diana Martin (co-manager, MiningWatch Canada), Kiegan Irish (advocacy officer for development and peace, Caritas Canada) and Aidan Gilchrist-Blackwood (network coordinator, Canadian Network for Corporate Accountability).
