
BC NDP MLA Whiteside says funding will support community services for people in New Westminster
NEW WESTMINSTER– BC New Democrat MLA Jennifer Whiteside says people in New Westminster will benefit from enhanced programs and community services as local non-profits receive Community Gaming Grants.
“I’m grateful our government supports non-profits that help people move through life, meeting them where they are at,” said Jennifer Whiteside, MLA for New Westminster-Coquitlam. “Thank you to all of the organizations that make New Westminster strong.”
In New Westminster, 21 non-profits are receiving a total of $1,358,400. Local non-profits include:

Westminster House Society – $125,000

New Westminster Family Place Society – $29,000

Last Door Recovery Society – $66,500

Lookout Housing and Health Society – $125,000
In 2025-2026, more than $56 million was distributed among 1,225 non-profit organizations through the Human and Social Services stream of the Community Gaming Grants program.
