Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition and the Conservative Party of Canada, released the following statement on Eid al-Adha:

“As the sun sets and the crescent moon is sighted, Muslims across Canada and around the world will begin to celebrate the ‘Festival of Sacrifice’.

“Honouring the prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to God, Eid al-Adha is a time for reflection on faith, gatherings with family and giving to those in need. Whether volunteering at a local soup kitchen or organizing a charity drive, it’s a chance to give back to their communities.

“The holiday marks the conclusion of Hajj, when Canadian pilgrims to Mecca unite with those who travelled from every corner of the globe. I offer my congratulations to those from across our country who made the long journey this year.

“On behalf of the Conservative Party of Canada, I wish all those celebrating a happy and fruitful Eid al-Adha.

Eid Mubarak!
