Minister Anand speaks to media at NATO foreign ministers’ meeting – May 22, 2026

In Helsingborg, Sweden, Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand speaks to reporters on her way into a meeting with her NATO counterparts.

She discusses Canada being selected as the host of a new multinational defence bank and reiterates the federal government’s support for Ukraine in its war against Russia.

Minister Anand takes questions from reporters on Canadian Armed Forces’ ongoing NATO mission in Latvia. She also comments on what Canada’s role may be in securing and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
