MPs comment on employment numbers, future of the snowbirds – May 8, 2026

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons.

Conservative MPs Garnett Genuis and Bernard Généreux comment on newly released jobs numbers that saw the economy shed 18,000 jobs in April and the unemployment rate rise to 6.9 per cent.

Conservative MP Michael Kram responds to questions on the future of the Canadian Air Force’s Snowbirds, which according to his party could be grounded after this season.
