Feds invest in youth gang prevention in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick – February 20, 2026

At a news conference in Halifax, federal Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree announces over $1.2 million in federal funding for youth gang prevention in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Funding will support a new initiative from the Ummah Society, a Muslim charity based in Atlantic Canada, which will focus on at-risk Muslim youth.

Also speaking at the event are Halifax MP Shannon Miedema and the Ummah Society’s Abdullah Yousri.
