Federal and Alberta governments announce extension to child-care agreement – December 12, 2025

Patty Hajdu, the federal minister of jobs and families, and Demetrios Nicolaides, the Alberta minister of education and childcare, hold a news conference in Calgary to announce an extension to the Canada–Alberta early learning and child care agreement. They are joined by Liberal MP Corey Hogan (Calgary Confederation, Alberta) and Shannon Doram, president and CEO of YMCA Calgary.
