L’Alberta refuse d’appliquer le rachat d’armes à feu du fédéral

Le ministre de la Justice de l’Alberta, Mickey Amery, a présenté hier son plan pour contrer le programme fédéral de rachat d’armes à feu. S’appuyant sur la Loi sur la souveraineté de l’Alberta dans un Canada uni, il qualifie l’initiative d’Ottawa d’attaque inconstitutionnelle contre les droits des Albertains. Pierre-Yves Borduas, ancien sous-commissaire de la GRC et président de P-Y Public Safety Management, souligne que ce refus découle notamment de la surcharge actuelle des corps policiers.
