Alberta-Ottawa MOU: What are the risks for Mark Carney and Danielle Smith?

Both Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta’s Premier Danielle Smith faced some backlash after the signing of their energy MOU last week. Steven Guilbeault resigned from Carney’s cabinet in opposition to the MOU. In Alberta, Danielle Smith got booed during her party’s annual congress due to her pipeline deal. David Coletto, founder and CEO of Abacus Data, addresses the political risks both the Prime Minister and the Premier face with this agreement and how the government is doing in the polls in the weeks following Mark Carney’s first budget.
