Le Bloc demande la création d’un registre national des implants mammaires – 27 novembre 2025

À Ottawa, Luc Thériault, porte-parole du Bloc Québécois en matière de santé, réclame la mise en place d’un registre national pour les implants mammaires. Il presse Santé Canada d’agir afin d’assurer un meilleur suivi médical des patientes et une surveillance accrue des risques associés à ces dispositifs. À ses côtés, des médecins spécialistes comme Jan Willem Cohen Tervaert, professeur de médecine à l’Université de l’Alberta et professeur émérite de médecine et d’immunologie de l’Institut de recherche en santé mentale et neurosciences de l’Université de Maastricht, aux Pays-Bas; Prabath W B Nanayakkara, professeur de médecine interne, Centre médical universitaire d’Amsterdam, Initiateur de la Clinique Nationale d’Implants Mammaires, Amsterdam, Pays-Bas et de plusieurs femmes telles la docteur Isabelle Gaston, qui témoigne dans un documentaire, Julie Élliott, militante, patiente et représentante des patientes et Terry McGregor, survivante du BIA-ALCL, lymphome anaplasique à grandes cellules. Ces femmes, touchées par des complications liées aux implants, témoignent de l’urgence d’améliorer la traçabilité et la sécurité de ces intervention.
