Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, released the following statement on Polish Independence Day:

“Resilience: the ability to return from defeat unbowed – and ready to fight again. A word that defines Poland’s cause through more than a century of statelessness and oppression.

“Today, Poles celebrate not the founding of their nation, but the rightful restoration of its sovereignty.

“In our time, Poland has not forgotten the lessons of its history. Our country has long been proud to consider Warsaw a key European partner: a thriving democracy and market economy that left socialism in the dustbin of history.

“As Canada’s incredible community of Polish heritage marks this important date, Conservatives join them in celebrating our shared values of faith, family and freedom.”
