MPs comment on federal budget, conflict of interest committee study – October 28, 2025

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons.

Liberal MP Rob Oliphant and NDP MP Leah Gazan face questions on expectations surrounding the upcoming federal budget.

Interim NDP Leader Don Davies and Conservative MP John Brassard comment on the motion adopted in the House of Commons calling on Michael Sabia, clerk of the Privy Council Office, and Marc-André Blanchard, PM Mark Carney’s chief of staff, to testify as part of the ethics committee’s study of conflict of interest rules.

NDP MP Heather McPherson speaks about the Israeli government’s recent airstrikes in Gaza, despite the ongoing ceasefire.
