Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, released the following statement on the Second Anniversary of the October 7th Attacks:

“It has been two years since the darkest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.

“Innocent Israelis were hunted, tortured, kidnapped and murdered simply for being Jewish. Entire families destroyed: children taken, women assaulted and communities shattered. 48 still remain hostage, held in Hamas’ dungeons under Gaza.

“Too many have moved on with indifference, while others have turned to violence against Canadian Jews – who have become targets of harassment, vandalism and violence.

“Conservatives will always stand with Jewish Canadians in the face of rising antisemitism. We unequivocally and unanimously condemn the intimidation faced by Canada’s Jewish community and call for the safe release of the remaining hostages.

“May the memory of those murdered on October 7 be a blessing.”
