Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, released the following statement on Latin American Heritage Month:

“This month, we celebrate part of what makes our hemisphere special. For centuries, the incredible peoples and cultures of Latin America have given humanity some of its most renowned music, literature, dance and cuisine.

“Through generations of hard work, Canadians of Hispanic and Latin American heritage have helped shape the country we know and love, while continuing to live out their incredible cultural legacy.

“In my own home, Anaida and I raise our two proudly Canadian children to respect and honour their Hispanic and Latin American roots – including through the Spanish language.

“Now more than ever, Conservatives are committed to building up a Canada that is truly glorious and free. Where oppression and conflict are left on foreign shores, and families are safe to live out their values of faith, family and freedom without intimidation or threats.

“On behalf of all my colleagues, I want to wish everyone celebrating a very happy Latin American Heritage Month!“Feliz Mes de la Herencia Latinoamericana!
