Notre animateur Marc-André Cossette reçoit sur le plateau de l’Essentiel Jason Jacques, directeur parlementaire du budget par intérim. Alors que le gouvernement Carney promet à la fois des investissements d’envergure et une ère d’austérité, plusieurs questions se posent : Ottawa dispose-t-il toujours d’ancrages budgétaires solides? Les distinctions prévues entre dépenses de fonctionnement et investissements en capital risquent-elles de brouiller la transparence? Et jusqu’où faudra-t-il aller pour remettre les finances publiques sur une trajectoire viable? Jason Jacques fait le point sur les défis colossaux à venir.
