Canada Research Chairs (CRC) candidate presentation
Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend presentations by four candidates for the role of Tier II Canada Research Chair in Fire Behaviour and Management.
The Canada Research Chairs (CRC) program plays a fundamental role in the support of cutting-edge research across the country.
Date: Wednesday, Oct. 1
Time: 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Location: REM 104/Teams
Join virtually on Teams or in person in REM 104, Research and Emergency Management Building (next to ECEC), Kamloops campus.
Chairholders accelerate and strengthen TRU’s research capacity and are essential threads in the fabric of a university, creating increased momentum for research at TRU.
The role of a CRC is to engage in leading-edge research, elevate research training opportunities for students and help answer questions relevant to the communities we serve.
TRU has a current allocation of six Tier II chairs.
These are five-year appointments, renewable once.
They are targeted at exceptional emerging scholars who have the potential to lead in their fields. Together, TRU’s six CRCs represent a $3-million investment from the CRC program, along with an additional $450,000 infrastructure investment from the Canada Foundation for Innovation.
During their presentations, each candidate will be asked to outline their five-year research plan, linking it to the CRC’s role.
There will be questions and discussion afterward. The selection committee welcomes and encourages your feedback.
