Kamloops Bike Valet is now open
Are you heading downtown on your bike and need a secure place to park it while you complete your errands? Just head on over to the Kamloops Bike Valet! They will take more than just bikes—any active transportation device is eligible. So bring your strollers, adaptive bikes, bike trailers, push-scooters…basically anything human-powered can be parked at the Bike Valet.
This year, the City has funded two downtown locations:
Sandman Centre (West Plaza, 300 Lorne Street)
May 7 – August 31, 2025
Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
Sundays 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Kamloops Farmers’ Market (200 Block of St. Paul Street)
May 10 – October 25, 2025
Saturdays 8:30 – 12:30 pm
This service is free, and works like a coat check. You drop off your bike and are given a claim pass, and then when you are ready to retrieve your bike, you return the claim pass. Easy! To find out more, check out the City’s info page here.
Please spread the word about this great service!
Transition Kamloops
Transition Kamloops is a volunteer-driven, registered not-for-profit society focused on increasing local resilience and self-sufficiency in food, water, energy, culture and wellness. We emphasize a local economy, healthy ecosystems, and grassroots community building, while reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. We believe in a better way: a community that sustains life in all its diversity, strives for equality and justice and invests in the future.
Transition Kamloops recognizes that we are living on Secwépemcul’ecw—land that was never ceded to settlers, and continues to be home to vibrant Indigenous cultures, languages, and traditions. We acknowledge the impact of colonization, forced displacement, and ongoing struggles faced by Indigenous peoples. We commit to listening, learning, and building positive relationships with Indigenous communities as we work towards reconciliation.
