Ottawa announces funding for 70 municipal climate adaptation projects – August 22, 2025

At a news conference in Dartmouth, N.S., Environment Minister Julie Dabrusin announces $5.2 million in funding to support 70 municipal climate adaptation projects across Canada. The funding will be distributed through the Federation of Canadian Municipality’s Green Municipal Fund, a federally-funded initiative that supports local environmental projects. Dabrusin is joined by Brittany Merrifield, mayor of Grand Bay-Westfield and Federation of Canadian Municipalities board member.
