MPs comment on U.S. hike on steel and aluminum tariffs, pipeline through Quebec – June 4, 2025

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons. Ministers Mélanie Joly (industry) and François-Philippe Champagne (finance) comment on the possible response to the U.S. decision to hike global tariffs on steel and aluminum from 25 to 50 per cent.

Bloc Québécois MP Patrick Bonin and Conservative MP Pierre Paul-Hus face questions on the possibility of a pipeline being built that runs through Quebec.

Green Party Leader Elizabeth May discusses her party’s proposals to establish national firefighting service to respond to the increase in wildfires across the country.
