Advocates propose education initiative ahead of G7 summit – May 21, 2025

In Ottawa, a coalition of advocacy groups proposes an initiative for the upcoming G7 Leaders’ Summit that relates to education, peace and security.

Speaking with reporters are Taryn Russell (executive director of Results Canada) and Susan McIsaac (president and CEO of Right to Play International), who are co-chairs of the Canadian International Education Policy Working Group. Also speaking are Hawa Abdiaziz (gender equality specialist at the Refugee Education Council), Shelly Whitman (executive director of the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace, and Security), and Fred Witteveen (CEO of Children Believe).
