Ukrainian-Canadian groups discuss ‘Sacrifice Medal’ for killed or wounded service members

Ihor Michalchyshyn, executive director and CEO of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, and Taras Jackiw, chair of the Ukrainian Canadian Sacrifice Medal Committee, hold a news conference in Ottawa to provide an update on the award.

Established in 2022, the Ukrainian Canadian Sacrifice Medal honours Canadian citizens who have been killed or wounded in action defending Ukraine against Russia’s invasion. (May 8, 2025)
