A ceremony is held at the National War Memorial in Ottawa to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands and Victory in Europe (VE) Day. The event marks the anniversary of Nazi Germany’s unconditional surrender to the Allies in World War II, which took effect on May 8, 1945.
